Do you think other countries are just jealous that they didn't think of it first or is this becoming areal issue that needs to be tackled by the EU. Ireland's low corporation tax has brought a large number of multinationals to its shores but now the EU is fighting back and trying to question the legality of lowering the tax in one country alone and if this competes with its international standards.
It will be interesting to see how this one turns out. I know that a lot of the companies have already set up shop here and say that they are happy with the workforce and the location, but if they are hit where it will hurt, namely in their pockets well then how will that impact on their decisions to stay or to move on to another country. only time will tell. For now the Michael Mc Grath the finance ministers for one of the biggest opposition parties in Ireland Fianna fail is saying that they are using "every means at their disposal" to make sure that doesn't happen. Hopefully he is right.
